The Chilean economy has traditionally concentrated on natural resource-based and primary products. This scenario raises one of the most important global challenges we face in this generation; to achieve a more sustainable industry.

Nanotechnology is a powerful tool that has the potential to provide disruptive innovations, rather than incremental improvements, providing sustainable solutions to help our society, the environment, and the industry.

However, many nanotechnological developments remain behind the doors of research laboratories and do not reach the end-user level due to a lack of companies, infrastructure, and local experts that can accelerate the development of such technologies. Greengroup was founded to provide a multidisciplinary innovative approach that enables the next generation of tailored-made nanotechnology solutions to make our industrial activities more sustainable. 

Our partnership with the government and industry started back in 2015 when a talented group of scientists and engineers from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María obtained their first grant to develop a nanotechnology-based innovation to reduce the environmental impact of the Chilean mining industry. Since then we have held several patents, obtained several national awards, raised several million dollars in private-public funding, and developed diverse nanotechnological solutions for the mining, aquaculture, and manufacturing sectors.  

We aim to be a bridge between academia and industry to co-develop disruptive and high-impact nanotechnological solutions that help transform the productive matrix of the industry, making it more sustainable and efficient.

 As Greengroup we make our frontier scientific/technological knowledge available to the market to transform it into products, services, and/or processes with high added value.
